Dr. Jorge García Mateos
Jorge García Mateos is Doctor in Physics since 1996, and a teacher at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) since 1993, currently being an Associate Professor in the Signal Theory & Communications Department.
His research work was devoted to the study of nonlinear dynamics in fiber optics and applications to all-optical photonic devices. His main subject of interest was nonlinear fiber ring resonators synchronously pumped.
From 2018 to 2020 developed a novel electronic control for the elevators security chain and an IOT architecture for remote monitoring and predictive maintenance of elevators, collaborating with several SMEs of the vertical transportation systems market.
He started his collaboration with the gAGE/UPC group in 2023. Currently his research is focused on space weather monitoring using GNSS signals and particularly on ionospheric scintillation affecting the signals transmitted by the GNSS satellites to the receivers on Earth. He also conducts research activities on GNSS software receivers.
